The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 61,000 pilots at 38 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an Administrative Assistant for our Tysons (McLean), Virginia office. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for the director, managers, supervisors, and staff engineers in the Engineering and Air Safety Department. Work includes typing, filing, making travel arrangements, tracking project budgets, proof reading, and preparing various documents for public distribution. They also work as a team member with other administrative assistants in the department, to develop and implement office procedures and processes and assists in meetings/classes and event planning and execution. The individual is responsible for timely updates of documents used by other staff members and must be able to accept ad-hoc assignments during the course of the regular duties assigned. Understanding how to prioritize work to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high degree of accuracy is key to success.
Travel: 2 – 5%.

Sporadically and/or while on travel, could be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve luggage and/or boxes weighing as much as 50 lbs. (Assistance may not always be available.)
