Ambry Genetics Looking for Project Manager, Commercial Operations at Aliso Viejo, CA Full Time

Job Overview:

This role is responsible for facilitating teams to completion of meaningful project objectives, on target timeline, within budget, and in conformance to Ambry Genetics’ project management methodologies and standards. The Project Manager works independently under general direction of the Program Manager, and assumes primary responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, and delivering project activities through the entire project life cycle.  This role will require understanding and application of efficiency techniques and process improvement tools, preferably with Lean Six Sigma background. This role will manage projects across the business and be housed in the Project Management Organization (PMO) at Ambry Genetics; primary project areas will focus on enterprise level and commercial/business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proactive facilitation of projects to ensure project success and minimize risk realization.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams for moderate and complex projects, through the entire project life cycle, ensuring the project remains on track and proper communication of status is given.
• Application of process improvement techniques to projects to ensure solution approaches are efficient and streamlined, with an eye for first-touch quality.
• Understanding of intertwined nature of projects and departments and coordinating within the PMO to ensure project alignment.
• Resolves project issues by working with internal and external team members, project customers, and others as appropriate.
• Influences middle and upper management on technical and business solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 EDUCATION and Knowledge:

• Bachelors degree or higher in engineering, business, or life/physical science (preferably industrial and systems engineering, healthcare administration, or similar)

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Skill, Abilities and Capabilities):

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent understanding of customer service and VOC
• Proactive and efficient prioritization of workload and ability to delegate tasks as needed
• Demonstrated success working with a team
• Must be able to influence without authority
• Demonstrated ability to apply process improvement methodologies
• Strong understanding of business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships
• Experience in scheduling tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Excel Gantt
• Experience with an enterprise project manager tool such as Project Online, Clarity, or Confluence
• Experience in laboratory or healthcare setting
• Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
• Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3+ years of project management/process improvement experience in healthcare or life sciences
