Lead Typesetter
The Lead Typesetter is responsible for guiding the American Economic Association’s prepress department in the production of its eight academic journals and its annual papers and proceedings volume. This position reports to the Director of Publication Services. Compensation includes an outstanding benefits package.

Responsibilities
- Manage a staff of 6-7 prepress typesetters/graphic artists.
- Contribute to layout, formatting, and other tasks using the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Maintain optimal workflow to ensure timely completion of all print and e-pub deadlines.
- Evaluate processes to identify areas of improvement.
- Provide quality control and feedback to prepress staff.
- Coordinate with third-party offset printing companies for delivery of materials.
- Become well versed in the AEA style guides and templating.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum associate’s degree
- 10+ years relevant on-the-job technical experience
- Skilled with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator
- Managerial experience a plus

The AEA Publications office is located on Pittsburgh’s South Side. It is a professional, relaxed, and collaborative atmosphere.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
