Async-Nu Microsystems, Inc. is currently looking to fill a Graphic Designer position who possesses an Active Secret Security Clearance. The Graphic Designer position resides within the Office of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications, which provides a variety of outreach support services to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The office is charged with elevating Bureau initiatives and promoting its programs, people, and accomplishments with high-quality, engaging, and innovative digital products for a global audience.
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for producing a wide array of highly impactful digital design solutions for websites, social media, videos, promotional materials, presentations, reports, and public diplomacy campaigns in support of bureau initiatives.
The position is mainly remote however, the candidate will be required to be onsite at a minimum of 2 days per week per pay period.

Job Duties:
- Produce graphics for a wide variety of digital mediums.
- Assure the uniformity of aesthetics and branding across designs.
- Maintain a robust photo and graphics archive.
- Serve as an expert in visual branding for communications.
- Liaise with offices to determine their requirements
- Work with a multitude of offices, briefing and advising them about design style, format, print production, and timescales
- Develop concepts, graphics, and layouts for product illustrations, campaign logos, and websites
- Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
- Prepare rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
- Review final layouts and suggest improvements if required
- Liaise with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met, and material is printed to the highest quality
Requirements:
- 3+ year’s professional experience in graphic design preferred. However, highly skilled graphic designers with less professional experience but VERY STRONG portfolios with work in a variety of mediums are also encouraged to apply.
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree with a focus on graphic design
- Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign) & Microsoft Office
- Experience with creating e-books is a plus.
- Fluency in foreign languages, experience with non-Latin-based typography, or multi-cultural design is a plus.
- Previous UX work regarding website design is a plus.
Requires a Secret Security Clearance (Candidates currently holding a Public Trust Clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are encouraged to apply)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
