About Us:
We are a custom architectural signage shop located in Pacoima, CA. We have been in business for 60 years! We manufacture and install signage such as wayfinding signs, evacuation maps, channel letters, and much more. Some of our notable works are the LAFC Stadium, Wynn in LV, Hotel Indigo & Residence, and many more!
About the Position:
The position is for Evacuation Map Specialist. The position entails drawing and drafting evacuation maps for Production on Illustrator. We work with design/architect firms that have an existing design in place. We will be providing training on how to properly draft evacuation maps. Please note this is not a full-time designer position.
Job walks are essential to this position. A typical job walk: walk the building and locate all items such as exits, fire extinguishers, etc. Specs include materials, thicknesses, hardware, colors, font type, mounting, side view, top view, front view, and all other relevant details needed so our fabrication team can produce the signage based on the drawings.
You’ll be given written/email requests along with working files to complete your duties. You’ll also need to be able to draw organic requests based on sketches and handwritten notes.
All work is done on Adobe Illustrator CC. Avid and ample knowledge of this program is required.
**We will train individuals on materials, hardware, and mounting methods if that is not their strong suit or don’t have prior knowledge. **
Qualifications and Skills
Skills Needed:
- Excellent Adobe Illustrator Knowledge
- Excellent Attention to detail
- Able to read and understand measurements (inches, feet)
- Basic math and arithmetic knowledge
- Able to work in scale form, not freehand
- Knowledge of color theory
- Able to work with fractions and convert to decimals and vice versa
- MAC proficient (no work done on PC)
