Graphic Designer – part-time contractor needed

JOB SUMMARY: Denver Health is looking for a graphic designer responsible for developing, creating, and implementing graphic design services for Denver Health’s departments. Contractor will be assigned creative services for the hospital on a regular hourly basis, to include designing printed collateral, signage, infographics, newsletters, website graphics and banners, and other work. Assists with the management of printing and other applicable vendors. Works closely with the Marketing and PR staff to develop these creative campaigns, and offers design expertise to staff and other departments in the hospital as needed.

Scope of work:

• The graphic design contractor will work with the public affairs and marketing team to assist in the creation of digital and traditional marketing collateral using brand guidelines

• Work directly with print vendor on assigned projects for print estimates, press check, and distribution of print collateral

• Work with stake holders to complete their graphic design marketing requests through DH email while communicating and updating the marketing team on assignments through Trello workflow.

Required Hours per Week: 15-20

Bill Rate: $35-$40/hr

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s in Graphic Design, Photography, Advertising, Marketing, or related field.

Experience: Typically two years’ experience plus, in graphic design and photography.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Video editing knowledge a plus. Strong organizational skills. Service-oriented working style, excellent organizational abilities, and strong interpersonal skills.

• Has a strong design portfolio for review
• Pre-press experience with strong grasp of photo, font, and color selection along with page composition
• Detail oriented with solid copyediting knowledge (AP Style)
• Familiarity with PC and MAC computers, desktop printers, cameras, large format printers, commercial cutters, folders, paper drills, laminators, copiers, fax machines and other graphic design elements
• Experience in print production process and knowledge of production techniques
• Deadline driven and able to juggle multiple projects while staying extremely organized
• Spanish-language reading/writing skills a plus but not required

Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
