Job Summary:
This is an extremely rare role for an experienced environmental professional familiar with construction in Southern California. Manage a team alongside outstanding designers and engineers to develop one-of-a-kind facilities to present Disney magic to our Guests. Participate in planning and design review processes to ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations during the entire life-cycle of each facility, from design, construction through operation.
You will report to Director, Environmental Affairs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with construction teams and Environmental Affairs experts to provide practical solutions and alternatives to design and operate facilities in compliance with local, state and federal environmental requirements.
- Along with appropriate experts, work with regulatory agencies to accomplish Resort construction goals.
- Coordinate the acquisition of regulatory permits necessary for the success of the project.
- Advocate and audit Cal/Green and Corporate waste diversion data to validate that they are accurate and complete.
- Create an inclusive, productive work environment for all members of Environmental Affairs, while providing opportunities for development.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of environmental and construction or related project management work experience
- 1+ years of experience leading a team or equivalent experience
- A working understanding of environmental requirements as they relate to California regulated wastes, compliance with SCAQMD and Regional Water Quality Control Board permitting requirements.
- Understanding of the construction design process.
- Understand and interpret construction drawings.
- Experience in California construction process and associated environmental regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Municipality or other agency work experience
- 3+ years of experience leading a team or equivalent experience
- High level of interest and experience with Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
- Registered California Professional Engineer
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in in civil, environmental, chemical engineering or related field
Preferred Education
- Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical engineering or related field
