ABOUT THIS POSITION:
Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for receiving electronic faxes, scanning documents, and uploading files into the electronic medical records system under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. Also be responsible for completing Itemized Bill requests in a timely fashion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for scanning and retrieving medical records.
- Maintains a general filing system and correspondence required either electronic or written
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Has a thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations and utilizes such to ensure compliance within the medical records department.
- Performs all other duties as delegated from the Director of Clinical Services.
- Supports and executes the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively.
- Represents themselves in a positive and professional manner in the company and community.
- Reports on time and as scheduled in order to complete work within designated time.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in Employee Handbook, Employee Agreement, or communicated from executive team.
- Complete Requests for Itemized Bills.
Skills and Education
- Minimum of 6 months of medical records experience in a clinic, hospital, or home health setting.
- Previous experience working with an EMR system is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with VFax is a plus.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. College Degree is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Advanced typing and computer skills.
Training will be provided for the position.
Working hours: 8 AM – 5 PM
Pay: $12.00 – $18.00 per hour
