Marine Service Manager – Michigan

We’re looking for a Marine Service Manager for a full-service marina and boat yard located in Northern Michigan.  Ideally, you’ll be a certified marine mechanic with experience developing and leading a team. This facility provides all aspects of marine service, including engine service & repair, marine systems, wiring, running gear, fiberglass work, bottom painting, and storage for power and sailing vessels.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing service issues and repairs needed
• Creating estimates for boat repairs and maintenance
• Act as a liaison between the customers and mechanics
• Scheduling / assigning work orders to appropriate technicians
• Managing service inventory
• Project management
• Get hands-on mechanically when needed to get the job done 

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience as a senior marine mechanic or service manager
• Certifications with marine outboard/inboard engines and associated trades
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills
• Experience with inboard and outboard engines – various makes
• Experience with detailed record-keeping and computer programs
• Strong customer service / communication skills
