Florida Gynecologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery Looking for Medical Assistant at Coconut Creek, FL Full Time

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history, medication listing, assessing visual acuity and determining chief complaint
• Update medical records
• Arrange imaging and laboratory services
• Informing patients of results
• Administers intramuscular and subcutaneous and intradermal injections. Performs venipunctures, CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA Waived lab testing

• Assist during medical examinations; pap smears, colposcopy, hysteroscopy,etc
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
• Changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures

• Upon physician approval and authorization, calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy

• Answering office phones, assisting front desk in scheduling appointments and directing calls appropriately

• Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion

Skills

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of education
• Knowledge of medical terminology and gynecological procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software-E-Clinical Works, Intergy
• bilingual (Spanish) preferred
