The Communication Disorders and Deaf Education (CDDE) department at Fontbonne University invites applications for a Clinical Educator in an affiliate faculty position beginning in Summer 2022. CDDE is housed in the College of Education and Allied Health Professions.
This is a full-time, 12-month contract. Primary responsibilities include supervising student clinicians in the on-campus speech and language clinic and providing direct student support overseeing client assessment/evaluations, instructional planning, implementation of intervention, and facilitating student reflection, data analysis and report writing. Additional responsibilities may include coordination of other clinical instructors to create a community of practice amongst both adjunct and full-time faculty engaged in clinical supervision. Starting salary will be based on qualifications and experience of the applicant with an excellent benefits package available.
Department Mission
The mission of the department of communication disorders and deaf education at Fontbonne University is to prepare knowledgeable, competent and caring professionals in speech-language pathology and deaf education. Through courses and practicum experience, knowledge is developed, professional ethics and values are formed, and opportunities are provided for guided practice to foster reflective and caring therapists and teachers who will have a positive impact on individuals, families and society.
The departmental mission statement corresponds closely with the university mission statement, as both speech-language pathology and deaf education disciplines are rooted in “personal concern.” Critical thinking, ethical behavior and assuming responsibility for one’s own behavior and the welfare of others are additional qualities included in both the departmental mission and the university mission. The goals of speech-language therapy and deaf education are always to maximize inclusion of individuals served by both professions, and this is accomplished via open communication and collaborative practice.
Interview Process & Timing
Review of applications will begin January 24, 2022, with finalist interviews to be scheduled for late-February 2022 and an offer to be made by mid-March.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in speech-language pathology or closely related field, current CCC-SLP, and eligibility for Missouri licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with use of evidence-based practice in therapeutic practice, clinical supervision (at least one year), graduate-level course instruction, and telepractice.
