House of Sillage Hiring for Graphic Designer Job at Newport Beach, CA Full Time

The House of SILLAGE, is seeking a passionate and creative Designer with a background in Illustration and Graphic Design. Please consider this opportunity if you are a conceptual thinker, visual storyteller, and detail-oriented illustrator with a designer mindset who can bring your ideas to life in new and inspiring ways. With direction from creative leadership, this position will use knowledge of current graphic design software and tools to produce graphic art and visual materials for online and print marketing, advertisements, videos, communications and social media. This individual must enjoy and thrive in a fast pace environment.

Responsibilities / Essential Duties:

• Produce strong conceptual and expressive illustrations that are engaging and reflect a cohesive illustration aesthetic
• Sketch, idea, and generate new concepts quickly based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research
• Craft highly visionary character, environment, and prop concepts
• You’re highly creative and an expert with design, silhouette, and structure when creating characters, and/or you’re a pro with lighting, staging, color, and composition
• Develop graphic elements for various web, print and multimedia formats, including campaigns, concepts, social media posts, banner ads, trade show materials, website content, catalogs, posters, etc.
• Work with Lead Designer and Design Team to assure all House of Sillage material meets luxury brand standards and consistency
• Work closely with the Product and Market Development teams to create effective campaigns
• Manage all social media channels and design daily posts that align with brand image. Support other graphic and video needs as required
• Use creative talent to design picturesque, insightful, and original content through various mediums
• Work with external vendors to develop creative materials for marketing campaigns (i.e. displays, t-shirts, shopping bags, etc.)
• All other duties as assigned

Education / Previous Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field (highly preferred)
• 3+ years of experience working professionally as an illustrator, with experience with graphic design, animation, and brand design
• 5+ years of experience in graphic design
• Fashion, Beauty, and/or Cosmetic Industry experience is a PLUS

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Proficiency in creating both vector and pixel-based illustration
• Experience with visual storytelling including editorial illustration and/or animation
• Experience in creating work for digital surfaces (mobile, web)
• Understanding of product design
• Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and PowerPoint. Adobe creative cloud is a PLUS
• Web design/development experience a PLUS
• Custom illustration / fine arts experience is a PLUS
• Product and packaging design experience is a PLUS
• Ability to function as a contributing team member and interact positively and openly with peers and other departments
• Ability to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency
• Aptitude to work constructively under stress in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Ability to learn, take direction and handle critiques
• Outgoing/self-starter personality
• Ability to pitch concepts and confidence in presenting ideas to clients
• Good written and oral communication skills
