What you’ll do:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results for instructional activities
• Support daily, on-going Program supervision including support for student regulation, observation of best practice during instruction, quality of instruction, care for environment and materials
• Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook
• Supervise and support student academic progress monitoring, ensuring that it is reliable and daily
• Audit maintenance of student records
• Provide academic curriculum training for staff and coordinate
• Supervise development and implementation
• Mentor special education teachers and paraprofessionals on academic methodologies and techniques.
• Supervise assigned areas of responsibilities for teachers in order to maximize business efficiency and productivity.
• Participate in team evaluation of paraprofessional performance in academic roles
• Support administrative team on policy implementation and offer recommendations for development
Our ideal candidate:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university required, Masters preferred
• Currently registered and maintained special education teaching certificate (LBS-I)
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Specific knowledge of subjects assigned
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
• Maintain emotional control under stress
