J.W. Jung Seed Company is an industry leader in mail-order and retail gardening. Jung Seed Company ships thousands of quality seeds, plants and gardening accessories to all 50 states. We have five garden centers in the state of Wisconsin with our corporate headquarters stationed in Randolph, WI. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Catalog Design Team as a Graphic Designer.
As a Graphic Designer you will be responsible for designing the catalog page layouts for our Spring and Fall Catalogs in accordance with Jung Seed’s mission and philosophy.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Create and design catalog page layouts, including cover, back cover, page two concepts and special treatments inside.
- Create, maintain and revisit creative for assigned catalogs, assuring catalogs remain current.
- Create, maintain and output art, logos and images for all catalogs and associated mailing pieces.
- Create and implement brand and product promotions as well as conduct analysis of sales history to maximize profit.
- Interpret and execute changes based on sales history, business research and marketing trends.
· Assure quality and fair pricing as well as be able to effectively negotiate product and price lists.
PERIODIC OR SECONDARY POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Create and design designated special smaller monthly projects.
- Create computer layouts for special projects as assigned.
- Creative input is encouraged for improving all projects and job functions.
- Catalog page building lead coordination (page assignments, style sheets, master page document, meeting deadlines).

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Excel, required
- Minimum of five years of experience progressively responsible experience in print design
· This position will require a tremendous amount of research and understanding of plants, seeds and horticulture. Someone with previous horticultural experience is preferred.
· A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Horticulture (with marketing experience) or similar degree required.
