Overview: POSITION SUMMARY:
Create stunning, compelling, strategically focused visuals that translate ministry and brand standards and strategies into assets that display beautifully and consistently online and in print. Also, support Communication Department and other departments in carrying forward existing design and brand throughout a myriad of digital and print projects. Creates templates and original files when necessary and assists other Graphic Designers and Art Director with updates and overflow project work.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

• Possess expert understanding of design and experience building graphics files for digital and print.
• Craft graphic elements, assets and visual treatments that adapt and flow with responsive design systems.
• Excellent concept, creative strategy, design, layout, color, composition, UI/UX, typography and communication skills.
• Produce graphics for a wide variety of platforms that are consistent with the KCM brand and our standard of ministry excellence, such as but not limited to: online, social media, print, tv.
• Partner with front-end developers and create html and CSS-friendly designs

JOB REQUIREMENTS: *
Education and Experience:

• Work experience equivalent to or bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Visual Communications, or related fields.
• 4 years of hands-on skill in Adobe Creative Cloud
• 2 years of hands-on graphic design work with a strong portfolio with a variety of clients/industries and deliverables represented.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *

• Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Experience with Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Experience with video editing and video software (Premiere, After Effects) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of print production process
• Understanding creating content for web (basic understanding of html, CSS)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions all while paying attention to detail
• Strong time management and multitasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to create and maintain good working relationships within the department and throughout the organization
• Must handle deadline pressures professionally.
• Goal oriented, self-motivated, understanding and utilizing effective time management practices, creative, analytical thinker, detail oriented, conscientious, consistent, progressive.

• Thorough working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud in a Mac environment including using layers, multiple artboards, smart objects, styles and automation
• Knowledgeable of industry standard printing practices and eBook creation and formatting a plus.
• Proficient with prepress standards and digital file creation a plus

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *

• Able to lift 30 lbs
• Must be able to sit at a computer for minimum of eight hours per day
• Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, telephones, copiers and other office equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: *

• Works in a normal office environment
• In rare cases there can be last minute projects/tasks that arise outside of normal working hours due to unforeseen circumstances so the ability to work remotely occasionally is a plus
