Summary

The Specialist (Graphic Designer) of Branding and Packaging supports in the design and execution of functional, eye-catching packaging designs from the creative concept phase through final production file delivery. This individual will adhere to and assist in the development of strict packaging guidelines for primary packaging as well as structural trays in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

**This position is Hybrid, requiring 1+ day in office (based on project work) and 4 days working from home in Arlington, VA**

What You’ll Do

• Follow creative briefs and work closely with brand and packaging managers to bring their vision to life. Design and execute food and non-food packaging that resonates with the US market.
• Emphasis on adapting creative designs to dielines and building side and back panels in accordance with Lidl brand guidelines and US regulatory guidelines. Ability to ensure consistency and accuracy within product ranges within tight deadlines.
• Strong personal accountability to accurately build print-ready production files for a variety of printing processes for primary packaging and structural trays for final delivery to printer.
• Ensure quality control and adhere to all stakeholder’s comments when developing packaging artwork.
• Leverage Lidl’s artwork review software system for production artwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or related field required In lieu of degree, a total number of Four + years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
• 2-5 years’ experience in related field required
• Strong Proficiency on Mac platform in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Preferred knowledge of Adobe InDesign. Ability to retouch photography.
• Strong understanding of print production, color management, and prepress knowledge to optimize print quality and efficiency.
• Experience working with a variety of printing processes, substrates, and packaging types.
• Detail-oriented with high quality/accuracy and proofreading skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box to create impactful designs.
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and remain a team-player in a fast-paced environment
