ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an opening for a Project Lead the Way Teacher to join the faculty for the 2022-2023 school year. This position is located at our high school on 1001 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton.
The Project Lead the Way Teacher will teach Computer Science classes using a project-based curriculum provided by Project Lead The Way (PLTW). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who will be teaching Computer Science for the first time or needs support with the content knowledge necessary to teach the classes. There will also be a partnership with Technology Education and Literacy in School (TEALS), which provides curriculum for the introductory course and a pairing with industry volunteers who help with teaching.
Compensation is based on the Match salary scale and ranges from $55,000-85,000 depending on years of prior teaching experience.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position includes a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to):
Teach up to four high school Computer Science and AP Computer Science classes;
Teach daily lessons from the PLTW and TEALS curriculum resources;
Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;
Participate actively in Matchs coaching and professional development programming;
Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; and
Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community

We are looking for applicants who:
have at least two years of full-time experience as classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting;
hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or obtain the licensure within a year of date of hire;
believe that all students can and will succeed;
Have a desire to continually improve their practice as a teacher by taking and implementing feedback; have a proven record of student success and achievement; and
demonstrate an ability to work well on a team, and a willingness to support others in doing their best work.
