*NURSE CONSULTANT – REMOTE POSITION*
*Scope of Responsibility:*
Supports Mercy Health in a professional manner by adhering to the Standards of Behavior.
*JOB SUMMARY: *
The selected candidate will utilize effective telephone, verbal, and written communication skills in an interactive call center to provide health information and referral services, and provide afterhours telephone triage services and physician call coverage. The selected candidate will follow approved guidelines, algorithms, policies, and procedures to effectively manage call center responsibilities.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*
20% – Utilizes critical thinking and clinical judgment to systematically assess caller’s symptoms to determine appropriate guidelines and disposition of care advice through computer applications and system-based medical protocols, algorithms, policies, and procedures.
10% – Utilizes effective telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.
10% – Knowledge of and proficiency in basic computer skills using a Windows-based platform, minimum keyboarding competency of 40 wpm, and with working knowledge of MicroSoft Office and Internet Explorer.
10% – Provides physician support services, including referrals and afterhours call coverage.
10% – Provides consumer-driven services, including class and event registration, service referrals, and promotion of Mercy Health services and facilities.
10% – Adherence to department policies, procedures, and protocol with ongoing support of colleagues and Health Link team.
10% – Adherence to the standards and policies of the Corporate Responsibility Program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations
10% – Embraces Standards of Behavior to provide and promote excellence in customer service for both internal and external customers. Holds self and others accountable for behaviors that promote service excellence.
10% – Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Education: 2 year/ Associates Degree
Preferred Education: 4 year/ Bachelors Degree
Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
*LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: *
Current Ohio RN licensure. CPR certification within 3 months of hire with continued renewal compliance.
