The role of Graphic Designer I at Navient requires formal design training with outstanding conceptual and visual design skills. You will partner with content creators and other marketing team members to ensure that design concepts support business needs. With an understanding of brand architecture systems, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously and remain flexible through revisions while maintaining impeccable quality. This position requires self-motivation, strong communication skills, and professional confidence in presenting work to key internal stakeholders. Proficient use of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are key requirements. A combination of print and web experience with strong typographical and layout skills is also essential. You will be asked to share portfolio samples of your work, preferably from diverse industries.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Project work – Conceptualize and design for print and web

• Create compelling layouts for all possible marketing needs
• Understand how to work within brand guidelines and leverage them in your designs
• Complete projects according to the deadlines within the creative services job flow process
• Prioritize work, and balance multiple projects with competing timelines

2. Production responsibilities

• Preparation of final mechanical files for release to vendors (print, web, exhibit, apparel, etc.)
• Maintenance of marketing’s SharePoint site. Ensure proper files are up to date and available
  for business partners to download.

3. Build and maintain expertise in design and production technologies relevant to business objectives

• Attends design workshops; reviews professional publications; participates in professional societies
• Share ideas and excites co-workers about design/creative marketing

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Graphic Design/Interactive Design or related creative curriculum
• 0-1 years web and print design experience
• Proficiency in: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office
• Mac OS
• Concept development and layout skills
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and follow through on projects
• Customer-focused
• Communicates effectively with marketing staff and other key stakeholders
• Positive and professional attitude; interest in learning new skills
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
• Ability to take feedback from team members and clients and find the best ways to address concerns and provide new solutions
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to take on new projects and assignments on short notice

Preferred Qualifications

• Multimedia production (video, audio, Podcasts, etc.)
• HTML Web coding
• Advertising agency experience
• Understanding of financial services
