Providing children birth to twelve (12) years of age with excellent childcare and appropriate guided play-based learning experiences. Ensure children are making progress toward school readiness by doing formal observations, writing developmentally appropriate lesson plans, and scaffolding that learning to ensure milestones are met. Applicant will be able to manage the routine of the children’s needs and standards of Accreditation. Work with other team members, and the manager to provide comprehensive care while incorporating curriculum into planned play. Working in the classroom directly supervising the children while following the curriculum, accreditation standards, and licensing regulations, writing lesson plans, doing observations, planning and implementing Parent Teacher Conferences, and paperwork associated with teaching young children. Cleaning and food service duties. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to manage a classroom successfully and conduct parent teacher meetings and work closely with the families to support children’s learning. In addition to complying with the childcare licensing rules applicants must be able to write weekly lesson plans, work with children on goals, and maintain both child portfolios and progress documentation. Each teacher is expected to monitor the classroom, attend monthly training and classes that correlate with accreditation and licensing standards. Providers are responsible for paperwork associated with progressing children on individual goals. They must be able to work with diverse populations and communicate with parents daily. Keeping a clean classroom and serving food is necessary.
Six (6) months to two (2) years direct, paid, full-time work experience in an Early Ed Program.
Part- time work may be prorated. One (1) year at twenty (20) weekly hours = Six (6) months full time.
CDA, Child Development Coursework, or Associates degree with course work in a related field such as Education is required. URPD classes (Classes from the Children’s Service Society) will be considered if the applicant has work experience as a teacher teaching in an Early Ed Setting with children birth to five (5) years of age.
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of starting the position.
Must pass a background check from the Bureau of Child Care Licensing.
Must pass a basic physical.
Must pass a TB Screening.
*Must be able to bend, lift and interact with children at their level.
