Academic GI/Liver Pathologist Needed, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Northeast
Our client, a nationally recognized Academic Institution located in the Northeast is seeking an academic surgical pathologist with expertise in Gastrointestinal Pathology.
The department processes more than 50,000 surgical specimens per year with a balanced mix of biopsy and resection specimens. The Medical College takes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, research, and medical education, and thus the faculty have the collaborative attitude and strong communication skills that are necessary for the interdepartmental relationships with the clinical faculty, students, and researchers with whom they work.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine supports faculty research initiatives through its robust translational research program. Collaborations are also available within the Department as well as with faculty from other departments at the medical college and its affiliate institutions.
The successful candidates will have completed fellowship training in thoracic/pulmonary pathology or be able to demonstrate expertise through scholarly activity, national recognition, and/or extensive prior experience. Strong diagnostic skills are needed for the busy and highly complex subspecialty pathology service. A strong commitment towards advancement of knowledge in the field through research and education is equally important.
Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is required as is eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of New York. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
