JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER/WEB CONTENT MANAGER
Job Description
The Marketing & Communication department seeks a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and creative individual for a Junior Graphic Designer/Web Content Manager position.
The Junior Graphic Designer will work under the Director of Visual Communications and report to the Director of Marketing & Communications.
This individual will work daily with our marketing team members and other departments or divisions to create graphics and visual content in alignment with our brand standards and marketing campaigns.
The Junior Graphic Designer will assist the MarComm team with creativity goals to expand awareness of our brand, communicate key messaging, and share our company culture with current and prospective students, faculty, staff, and board of trustees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design high-quality graphics and images for digital and print materials, including brochures, advertisements, social media, email campaigns, websites, event materials, presentations, etc.
- Assist in the creation of marketing assets for various departments.
- Successfully blend strategically defined business objectives with a brand-oriented visual aesthetic
- Collaborate with the marketing team.
- Produce proofs for feedback from management and adjust work accordingly.
- Work with outside vendors to coordinate sending and approving artwork.
- Manage working files, keeping them up-to-date and organized.
- Stay current on design trends, marketing best practices, software applications, and emerging technologies.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities related to the marketing team and SHC overall brand initiatives, as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a professional Graphic Designer role with formal education is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and WordPress CMS required; Experience with HTML, CSS, and UX/UI design is a plus.
- Must understand prepress techniques and can create hi-res, output-ready files across a variety of mediums.
- Motion graphics and animation experience a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or other relevant degree or 2 – 4 years of experience in higher education or agency experience is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,500.00 – $43,500.00 per year
