News-Press & Gazette Company is looking for a Page Designer to support the News-Press Media Group at our office in St. Joseph, Missouri.
The Page Designer is responsible for working as part of the Presentation Design Hub to complete page layout for the Atchison Globe, Hiawatha World, Green Acres and the St. Joseph News-Press. This also includes any special publication layout as needed. This vital person will also work with the content team to ensure proper story and photo selections, headline accuracy, and page design, keeping in mind the deadlines of each product.
We prefer candidates have a college degree in journalism, multimedia, communication or a related field with a good grasp of spelling, grammar, punctuation and design style. The key requirements are interest and ability to design and produce consistently, while keeping on deadline. We seek candidates who are eager to learn new skills in our ever changing newsroom environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, along with a competence to multi-task and prioritize projects and duties as needed. Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organization and time-management skills with knowledge of Adobe products.
