The Certified Medical Assistant/LPN is responsible for assisting in the delivery and facilitation of clinical care in an efficient and cost effective manner while adhering to quality standards. Under the direction of the office manager and physician the CMA/LPN collects and documents appropriately in the medical record, enters data into clinic databases, greets patients and responds to inquiries. The MA/LPN is responsible for making sure the patient charts are in order, greeting the patients, obtaining weight and vital signs, recording medications, allergies, social and past medical histories in the patients chart. Following the direction of the physician the MA will process medication refills and prior authorizations. Maintaining an efficient patient flow throughout the clinic is key as is adhering to practice protocols and HIPAA guidelines.
Medical Assistant certification required/Licensed Practical Nurse. AAMA, NCCT, NHA or NCCA currently accepted, others must be reviewed and approved by medical group director. BLS certification required within 3 months of employment. High School Graduate or GED equivalent is required. Successful completion of Medical Assisting certificate/diploma program or equivalent experience that qualified for certification exam.Physician Office experience required but Internship from Certified program may be accepted in lieu of depending on setting.
