Tactical Hiring for Graphic Designer Job at Irvine, CA Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

At 5.11 we see graphic design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. We are looking for a highly creative graphic designer who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations, both in print and digital media. Our ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and skilled with every step of the design process from concept to the final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple teams across the global organization, the Graphic Designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project. The Graphic Designer role reports to the Sr. Creative Manager and is able to work remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop creative ideas and design concepts
• Develop graphics and layouts of marketing materials to include print & digital advertising, POS, store graphics, sales collateral, catalogs, direct mail, brochures, exhibitions & display graphics, packaging, corporate identity and other marketing collateral
• Work as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, other designers and marketing specialists
• Interpret client’s needs & present design solutions with high visual impact
• Amend final designs to client’s comments and gain full approval from all stakeholders
• Maintain open communication with creative lead and project manager on the status of all jobs
• Receive & interpret direction from the creative lead
• Collaborate on design with other team members
• Self-manage workload and maintain full adoption of project management and proofing software
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following credentials:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing or related discipline
• Expertise in digital design website, email and digital ads with good understanding of HTML, responsive design
• Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients with a professional approach and flexibility
• Ability to interpret and follow brand guidelines
• Creative thinker with a strong eye for design
• Strong computer skills with extensive experience with design programs (Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign)
• Ability to execute work against a brief, understanding clients’ needs and proposing solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to present and explain ideas
• Solid teamwork skills
• Deadline driven with the ability to multi-task
• Attention to detail
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry and industry software
