The Registered Nurse (RN) School Based Float provides and coordinates the care of patients/families and significant others in the ambulatory care setting by assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems, including evaluation of the patient’s response to the care. These responsibilities also include patient/family/significant other education and health maintenance strategies. The RN is a member of a designated health care team and collaborates, coordinates and guides team members in planning patient care and achieving goals. The RN School Based Float demonstrates knowledge of the principles of human growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age, specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described by standards and policy and procedures. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and Organization.
