The Vanguard School (Malvern, PA) has openings for Special  Education Classroom Teachers in our Elementary School, Middle School, and High School programs beginning August 24, 2022.  The ideal candidates will have experience working with students diagnosed with autism, neurological impairments, emotional disorders, and/or behavioral needs.  Training and/or experience implementing positive behavior support strategies is a plus.

At Vanguard, we rely on our Special Education Teachers to recognize the individual needs and unique abilities of each child and treat our students with dignity and respect.  Our Special Education Classroom Teachers plan & implement creative, appropriate daily lessons; monitor & report student progress; and create a healthy, supportive learning environment.   Each teacher is supported by a full-time classroom aide and 1:1 aides depending on individual student needs.  Our work days are:  Monday to Friday, 7:45AM to 3:30PM.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Current, valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education
• Exposure to and participation in a special education setting and knowledge of classroom management techniques
• Familiarity with positive behavior support and/or experience providing direct services to students on the autism spectrum and/or with emotional disorders is preferred
• Ability to recognize the individuality and uniqueness of each student and treat him/her with respect and dignity
