Creative Writing Teacher
Job Description
The Creative Writing Teacher will engage a class of aprox. 50 youth in literacy and creative writing activities. These activates are intended to help youth use creative writing as a tool to improve their mental health. The creative writing teacher s ability to connect, communicate and create meaningful interactions with youth is a critical part of their job.
Required education:
Bachelor s Degree in English, education, psychology, or related field
Preferred:
Experience working with at-risk you, previous experience teaching
Required skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, organized, ability to self-initiate, classroom management
The afterschool sessions will tentatively be from 4: 30pm to 6: 00pm. The hours for the teachers will be 6 hours a week for the North and South location and 3 hours a week for Central teachers.
